Using the Mobile App
The Kidago mobile app is the shared staff tool for day-to-day attendance. Available tabs and actions depend on the roles assigned to the device.
Before the first session
Install the app on the supported device and provision it from Devices. Confirm that the device shows the correct organization, name, type, and permissions under Settings. See Device Management.
Check in
- Select Check In and enter the child’s code.
- Confirm the child’s identity and review the displayed safety information.
- Select the arriving guardian when appropriate.
- Confirm check-in.
Check out
- Select Check Out and enter the child’s code.
- Select the collecting guardian.
- Confirm that the person is authorized for checkout. Guardians without checkout authority are shown as unavailable.
- Confirm checkout.
Never treat possession of a child code as proof that an adult may collect the child. Follow your organization’s identity-verification and emergency-contact policy.
Other app screens
- Active shows children currently checked in.
- Children searches by name or code and opens child details. With the appropriate role, staff can add or edit a child and manage allergy information and guardian links.
- Settings shows the registered device and its effective permissions and provides the device sign-out action.
Connection interruptions
Previously looked-up child information may be available while offline. Attendance actions can be placed in a local queue and replayed when the device reconnects. A pending action is not yet confirmed on the server; check the queue status and reconcile failures from the web Visits page.
Troubleshooting
- Child not found: verify the code, active status, and organization.
- Action unavailable: review the roles assigned to the device.
- Device unregistered: provision it again from Devices.
- Changes pending: restore connectivity, allow the queue to sync, and check for failures before recording the visit again.
